11 March 2013 / FAIRYTALE PERFORMANCE

Directed in the round by Head of Drama, Ian Tutin, the popular play provided a magical spectacle as fairies, elves, lovers and fools took to the stage in a wonderful whirl of comedy, pathos, mischief and intrigue.

"The production ran for three nights and we had excellent audiences who really seemed to be enjoying themselves," said Mr Tutin. "We've been rehearsing for about five months but all the time and effort certainly paid off - the girls were amazing. I'd also like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped out backstage, we couldn't have managed without them."

Girls from the age of seven to eighteen took parts, bringing Prep and Senior School pupils together.

"Drama is a very important way of developing self-confidence and encouraging teamwork and that's why we consider our annual school production to be so important," said Headmistress Caroline Pascoe. "I thoroughly enjoyed watching it - as did everyone else I've talked to. It really was a remarkable achievement and I congratulate everyone involved."
