Aspiring medic Emily took the next step on her journey to becoming a top doctor this week by receiving a sought after offer from the University of Nottingham’s Lincoln Medical School.

It’s been a long journey that has seen Emily excel in a demanding admissions process in order to achieve her ambitious goal. On average, for every ten students applying to study medicine at university, only one will be offered a place.

The UK top 20 university is part of the prestigious Russell Group.

Emily said: “I’ve been dreaming about this for so long I can’t believe it’s finally happening! I’m so excited for my medical journey to begin after so many years of dedication! Being a Peer Mentor and part of the Aspiring Medics Programme definitely helped my application. Programmes like these aren’t available in every school and being able to improve skills that will be essential as a doctor definitely benefitted me.”

Emily is currently on a gap year having graduated from Truro High last August with exceptional A Level results.
