Seven students from Truro High School performed at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the Cornwall County Choirs last week in order to raise awareness about ocean pollution.
Prep 6 Alexandra, Prep 6 Florence, Prep 6 Nancy, Year 7 Maisie, Year 8 Lucia and Year 9 Sheba performed as part of the 110-strong choir at the world-renowned classical music venue. Alexandra was selected to perform a small solo part during the concert.
Year 12 Rose was chosen to perform as part of a specially selected string quartet, which accompanied the choir.
As part of the concert, the choir performed Coldplay’s ‘Fix You’ as part of a campaign to raise awareness of climate change and marine pollution. Coldplay’s frontman Chris Martin even sent the choir a special message of support along with TV star Harry Hill.
The performance took place as part of the 150th anniversary Music for Youth Proms.
Cornwall County Choirs practise here at Truro High and regularly perform at prestigious venues around the country.
