An astonishing achievement, this marks an impressive 120 place increase in the national rankings for the Kernow Kitts which now lies at number 68 in the UK.

The first race after the team’s summer hiatus, the girls were ready and raring to put their pedal to the metal. It was an exhilarating day out on the track with records broken, slick pit changes and even a visit from ex-McLaren and Williams engineer, James Robinson, who again rolled up his sleeves to help our crew carry out repairs in the pits.

He said: “It was an excellent weekend’s racing for all four cars. Great to see such good preparation, solid driving skills and most of all great team work. It was lovely to see so many smiles from the girls at the end of the day at what can only be described as some amazing improvements over the last 12 to 24 months.”

It was also an exciting day at the races for the Green Goddess, Silver Shadow and 11th Hour who all flew round the track, much to the delight of their proud makers, and won places in the top 200. With some planned improvements the girls are hoping to win coveted spots in the international final at Rockingham Speedway and continue to speed to victory.

Head of STEM Mr Jon Dean said: “Today’s remarkable results are a testament to our girls’ ingenuity, engineering skill and hard work. Attention to detail and impeccable preparation meant the team sailed through scrutineering followed by a fantastic show of teamwork during the race itself – it’s been an absolute pleasure to sit back and watch the girls work together as a highly professional crew. I couldn’t be more proud!”
