Last Wednesday saw a number of the school’s Aspiring Medics dialling in for a fascinating lecture with Dr David Harris, a vet and lecturer at Cornwall College. The lecture focussed on the diagnostic challenges facing vets during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Upcoming online lectures and seminars include Dr Ann Harvey, Consultant Anaesthetist at the Royal Cornwall Hospital; Jane Orme, Tech Lead Software Analyst at Bluefruit Software; and Olivia Smedley, Graduate Space Scientist at Goonhilly Earth Station.

The school’s Aspiring Medics and Engineers Programmes offer students, wishing to pursue a career in healthcare or engineering, a tailored calendar of lectures, workshops, mentoring and one-to-one support to support their application to study these highly competitive courses.

A number of the extra-curricular activities are set to be reintroduced as part of the THS virtual school this term. Last week saw the launch of the THS ‘Get Outside’ Outdoor Learning Platform whilst plans are already in motion for music recitals and concerts with the girls performing from home.
