Chirstmas Fayre is a huge success

A human treasure chest, a human fruit machine and the chance to vote in members of staff to take part in a specially written Christmas pantomime were just some of the fun activities on offer at Truro High School's Christmas Fayre.

Each year group had their own stall and Year 9’s panto-casting idea certainly proved popular – as did Year 7’s prize-winning 3m x 2m pool that had been filled with shredded paper. Buried within it were winning tickets that, when discovered, were rewarded with prizes. Face painting, external exhibitor and PTA stalls, a nail bar run by Year 10 and, of course, Santa’s Grotto also attracted lots of customers – resulting in overall takings of more than £1500 to go towards the school’s Annual Fund.

“Both the Prep and Senior School Christmas fayres were held simultaneously – one in the dining room and the other in the Main Hall,” said Fiona Osman, the school’s Development Officer. “The atmosphere was wonderful and everyone worked really hard to make sure that there was lots to keep each and every visitor happy.

“This year’s Annual Fund proceeds are being used to buy a dugout for the sports field, microphones for the new music and drama block and to refurbish the Prep School library.”
