She also earned Bronze in the Under 23 Cadet Championships.
She is believed to have been the youngest fencer in the competition.
Her national win follows her being named National Junior Under 20 Sabre Champion in September.
Her impressive results have even earned her a number of selections to compete for Great Britain.
Next week, she will compete with the GBR Cadet Squad in Sofia, Bulgaria and in December she will compete with the GBR Junior Woman’s Sabre Squad in the Junior World Cup in Sosnowiec, Poland. She has also been selected for competitions in Germany, although the team has since withdrawn from these due to travel restrictions.
Melissa said: “I’m absolutely delighted. It was a tough day with fierce competition and my performance just got better and better throughout the tournament. It was quite close in the final but it all came good in the end. I’m so excited to be competing with Team GB again. It’s been far too long!”
She has previously been selected to compete with the GBR Cadet team for a number of competitions as well as for the England U13 and U15 Sabre squads.
