Pre-Prep pupils Nell, Sofia and Audrey are set to become published authors as a result of the My First Riddle competition.

Run by the organisation, Young Writers, the national competition was open to children aged 4 to 5 and called on entrants to write an exciting and entertaining riddle.

The competition received over 8000 entries, which the organisation said were of a very high standard. The judges’ favourite riddles were selected for collections of regional poetry anthologies.

Inspired by the thought-provoking question, ‘Is Jack Frost is just a graffiti artist?’, the girls spent a great deal of time penning their pieces in class and all three were selected to feature in the Devon and Cornwall poetry anthology.

The girls will now have the chance to be selected as one of the top 10 riddle writers in the UK. The winning students will be announced this summer.
