Against over 70 entries which had come top in their local heats, Year 9 Ella Kyle took the top spot in the regional competition which called on entrants to write imaginatively around the title “Our World is Beautiful”. The contest was run by Cornwall and Devon Rotary Club.

The judges complimented Ella on her original ideas and said that her writing painted vivid pictures that transported the reader to another place.

As a result of her success, Ella’s work will now be judged against the top creative writing pieces from across the country.

The Rotary Club Young Writer’s competition offers talented young authors the opportunity to develop their literary voice and share their imagination and creative flair with the public.

The winning writers will have their work published in national Rotary magazines.
