The girls played this first round at Millfield School and the day saw them pitted against tough opposition from Mount Kelly, Wellington and Talbot Heath.

First up were Mount Kelly, and after a strong start the girls were disappointed to go behind to a strong penalty corner strike. With only 5 minutes left on the clock Sophie slotted the ball into the goal to level the scores. With less than a minute to play Mount Kelly managed to score again, against the run of play to win the game 2-1.

The team then faced Wellington and after having the first goal disallowed the girls rallied back to clinch the game 2-0.

Needing a win to secure their spot in the next round the girls put in an impressive performance against Talbot Heath with Viv, Reilly, Sophie and Olivia each scoring to take the game 4-0.

The next round is at Clifton College next week and will see the girls face off against the strongest teams in the region for the trophy.
