During the 3 days of rugged terrain, the girls demonstrated resilience, teamwork and excellent navigational skills, as they tackled their routes and camped under the stars.
The teams travelled approximately 16-18 km a day! There were highs and lows, with some difficult nights sleep and a couple of minor injuries along the way, but the beautiful sunny weather and their team strength kept them smiling, with laughter and positive energy radiating from each team – even on the final day!
For our Silver teams, this expedition marks the completion of the expedition portion of the award, so with just some final volunteering and physical/skill elements to complete, the girls are well on their way to achieving their Silver Duke of Edinburgh!
Whilst for our Gold group, the expedition weekend was simply a short practise ahead of their final expedition in July, which will see them undertake a tough 4 day/3 night expedition at the Black Mountains in Wales.
