It was particularly special to see so many enterprising students running stalls selling their wares both as business ventures and to raise funds for local charities.
Products on offer included Year 8s Matilda and Lily’s fudge in aid of Cornwall Community Foundation, Prep 6s Romilly and Fleur’s Christmas decorations, Year 11 Sarah’s honey to invest in growing Cornwall’s bee population, Year 8s Ysella and Lavender’s eco-friendly water bottle holders, Truro High alumna Fiona’s beachcombed artwork and Year 11 Rachel’s upcycled sea glass jewellery to name but a few.
Former Fiver and Tenner Challenge participants included Year 7 Jyoti with her handmade candles, Year 7 Millie with her coastal artwork, Year 9s Plum and Daisy selling their national award-winning brownies and Year 12 Grace with her handmade resin homeware and jewellery.
We were also delighted to support Cornwall Blood Bank in its fundraising efforts. The charity provides a free ‘out of hours’ blood delivery service to the NHS in Cornwall.
