The institute counts a number of Grammy and BRIT Award winners, Mercury Prize-nominated artists, agency heads, songwriters, international booking agents amongst its alumni, including the likes of George Ezra, Fontaines D.C. and Natasha Bent.
Elaine said: “It’s great to receive these offers. The admissions teams were impressed by my music skills – such as my ability to play by ear – and how ambitious I am about progressing my career. Studying at BIMM will be an exciting new experience and I am looking forward to starting there.’
Elaine currently plays six instruments including Piano at Grade 7, Violin at Grade 5, Bass Guitar at Grade 4/5, Acoustic Guitar, Drums and Ukulele. She is also learning the Harmonium – a traditional instrument from Pakistan. Her ultimate goal is to play more than ten instruments and work in the music industry.
She currently studies Music, Textiles and Psychology at A Level. During her time at Truro High, she has performed with the school orchestra and string ensemble as well as directing and leading a rock band, teaching herself a Grade 7 classical piano piece and presenting research on whether music should be free as part of the Gold Arts Award.
