Hollie, 12 from Newquay, is playing the role of Samantha in a brand-new short film produced in conjunction with Falmouth University. “Jack’s Mind” is a 10-minute drama revolving around the family relationship between granddaughter (Samantha) and grandfather (Jack).

The film is written by Jake McBride and directed by Chloe McMahon from Falmouth University and will be premiered in early summer to hit the film festival circuit later in the year.

The film shoot took 3 days and Hollie loved seeing how the film crew put the whole thing together and said it was fantastic to work with such a lovely team. Hollie was picked for the part after auditions held back in November where she faced competition from three others who are also members of the Hall for Cornwall Youth Theatre.

A keen actress, Hollie took the lead role in a major production of ‘Matilda the Musical’ last August, and has also played Florinda in ‘Into the Woods’ at school. More recently she featured as Susanna in the school’s production of ‘The Crucible’.
