46 students from Truro High School have achieved the Arts Council England Arts Award – an invaluable qualification which challenges students to hone their creativity and leadership skills.

45 students from Years 8 and 9 have earned the Bronze Award and, having earned her Bronze last year, Year 8 Lauren earned her Silver award.

Special mentions go to Year 8 Bathsheba and Year 9s Yuxin, Asamau, Elise, Hiu, Andrea, Isabella, Eleanor, Krystiana and Jess who all earned Bronze but couldn’t be there to collect their awards yesterday.

All girls in Year 8 and 9 at Truro High have the chance to take on the Bronze Arts Award as part of their part of their art lessons. The programme has seen students in these year groups build a shadow puppet box theatre and host a performance using it. Plots have ranged from the tale of 2020 to the Greek myth of Medusa.

Work on these projects continued through lockdown earlier this year via our virtual school resulting in all these students achieving these prestigious awards years ahead of schedule.
