The award-winning team behind Operating Theatre Live is returning to Truro High School this September to bring Cornwall’s students the next generation of live event for aspiring medics and healthcare practitioners – MED-SOC.

The event is set to take place on Sunday 5 September 2021 from 9am – 4.30pm.

This event, which has been described as ‘the best medical preparation event on offer’ by the NHS and ‘incredible and compelling’ by the BBC, is open to all girls currently in Year 8 – 12.

The day offers a hands-on intensively academic insight into medical careers. Working with nationally acclaimed human anatomist Samuel Piri and his clinical team, students will discover the intricate workings of the human body through technical dissection.

Philippa Murray, Truro High’s Future Ready Co-ordinator said: “For any pupil considering a career in medicine, dentistry or the allied health professions, this is an outstanding opportunity for girls to get the most incredible pre-clinical training and for aspiring medics and dentists, advice on UCAT exams as well.”

This ticket is priced at £99.00 and includes all 8 modules of the event, beginning at 10.00am and finishing at 4.30pm. Truro High students will be offered a discount, which is to be confirmed depending on numbers.

Places are limited, and this event is already sold out in other parts of the country, so early booking is advised. At the very latest, Truro High parents need to book their daughter’s place by Monday 5 July, by emailing pmurray@trurohigh.co.uk
