Truro High School U13 hockey team celebrates county championship win

Truro High School for Girls’ under 13 hockey team proved its prowess on the pitch this week as it was crowned county champions in the Cornwall Schools Girls In2Hockey Tournament.

Against seven of the top school teams from across Cornwall, the girls were undefeated throughout the entire tournament held at Truro School and Penair.

Even more impressive, the team won every match it played by an average of five goals.

The girls will now compete against the best of the South West at the tournament’s regional finals held at Millfield School in March.

Director of Sport, Ms Kat Barbery-Redd said: “We’re absolutely thrilled with the team’s success, a fantastic result! Congratulations to all the girls who took part, there was some extremely impressive play against some very tough opponents.”

The team consisted of Amber Peake, Kiera Jeffery, Katie Mayall, Katie Day, Liesl Lingham, Lucia Harrison, Olivia Harvey, Lucy Day, Orlagh Giblett and Georgina Skitt.
