28 September 2012 / OOH LA LA!
Head of Modern Languages Sue Murley organised the day-long event with her teaching team.
"We've done a special assembly about celebrities speaking different languages, held a quiz and we're having a special European-style lunch," she said. "It's not just about Europe though. There are more than 6000 languages spoken in the world and it's important to celebrate the rich diversity and culture that those languages represent.
"Language learning is taken very seriously at Truro High. As we know, a lot of people in the world speak English but there are also a lot of people who don't. Having linguistic skill is a real advantage in today's competitive job market and it's something we do all we can to encourage."
Truro High School is holding an open morning on Saturday 6 October from 9.30 to midday. For more information, call Mrs Ellison on 01872 242904 or visit www.trurohigh.co.uk
Ends 28 September 2012
