18 August 2011 / Congratulations on Outstanding A Level Results!

Well done to all of our Year 13 Leavers! We are delighted to announce an outstanding 100% pass rate performance by the girls in this year's A Level examinations.

54% of the A Level examinations taken by Truro High School girls this year were awarded A*-A grades with an impressive 20% of girls achieving all A*-A grades. 81% of the A Level examinations were awarded an A* - B grade. 77% of all girls achieved an A* or A.

Two of our A Level candidates have won places at Oxford University, with one also securing a prestigious Choral Scholarship.

Other pupils have won places at leading universities including Edinburgh, Exeter, Manchester, Leeds and Cardiff with subjects ranging from Pharmacy to Linguistics, Law to Mathematics, German and Italian to Conservation Biology.

A clean sweep of A*-A grades was achieved in five subjects - Mathematics, History, Latin, Food and Nutrition and Art with 50% of candidates achieving A* in English and 40% achieving the highest A* grade in Mathematics.

The school continues its strong performance in all Departments.

Headmistress Mrs Caroline Pascoe congratulated both girls and their supportive parents. "These are wonderful results and testament to the hard work and diligence of both our pupils and staff."

" These outstanding results mean that the majority of our girls have achieved their first choice place at university. This is particularly significant this year when so many students were seeking places before the introduction of higher tuition fees. I am extremely proud of them all."
