  • 6 December 2010 - 5 July 2011 / HO! HO! HO! ALL THE FUN OF THE FAYRE!

    Well what fun it was! With Prep School fun in the dining room and the Seniors doing their bit in the main hall, there were stacks of stalls with games to play, goodies to buy and treats to eat and drink.   • 6 December 2010 - 5 July 2011 / PRACTISING THE ICE SKATING FOR THE ASTRO TURF!

    With temperatures in Cornwall unusually below zero and the astro turf, netball and tennis courts proving slippery, our boarders' weekend trip this weekend was certainly topical. They went to Plymouth ice rink where they donned their boots, clung to their friends and generally had a (n)ice time perfecting their skating technique! Read full article...

  • 6 December 2010 - 5 July 2011 / SIXTH FORM MATHEMATICIANS PROVE A WINNING FORMULA

    Last Tuesday, 11 schools and colleges took part in the Regional Heat of the Senior Team Maths Challenge at Truro College. It was a closely fought competition with only 3 points separating the first and second places, but Truro High School won, with Truro College second and Truro School third. The winning team consisted of Merryn Davies-Deacon, Rebecca Vinnicombe, Elizabelle Kwan and Julia Maskell. They will now go forward to the National Final in London in February. Well done!   • 6 December 2010 - 5 July 2011 / BOARDERS MULTI-TASK TO HELP OUT

    Last week, like many schools in the West Country, we had late starts and earlier ends to the school day to help those travelling far and wide in snowy and icy conditions in particular. Cathrine and Hannah, two Year 11 boarders, happily manned the phones, took messages and generally helped out until the Reception staff could get in. Thank you girls - you were a great help!   • 26 November 2010 / ROMAN CAKE CREATES A STIR AT LATIN CLUB

    This week some of the Year 7 Latin Club members joined Sixth Formers Poppy and Tabitha in making Roman Bread during their lunch time. Ricotta cheese, flour and egg, beaten, folded and baked and then topped with runny honey proved a (surprisingly!) tasty treat. The other half of the group, with Sixth Formers Olivia and Hollie, cooked last half term and so spent their lunchtime puzzling over Roman numerals. The whole group has been very enthusiastic and the club provides a useful introduction to Latin which is taught from Year 8 up to A level. Read full article...
