17 November 2010 - 17 November 2011 / PREP 5 AND PREP 6 SHINE THEIR LIGHT
Prep 5 and Prep 6 were thrilled to be asked to appear in the 2010 Truro City of Lights this month. The girls enjoyed an absorbing and productive workshop with Clare Summerson, a local professional artist who led them through the intricate skill of bending withies and then the rather messier and less intricate skill of coating each apple shape with PVA soaked sheets of paper! Fortunately we had an army of willing parents to assist with all stages of creation and their support was much appreciated - thank you! Just before the parade through the city it poured with rain but luckily there was a gap in the showers during the special event. This year no lanterns burst into flames but there was still much excitement and shrieks of laughter, especially from Mrs Miller with her radio microphone and from the girls who spotted Mrs Herbert hanging out of an upstairs window to cheer them on their way!
