Girls from all across the school, staff and parents spent a fantastic day cheering each other on in everything from sprints to javelin and from the dressing up race to welly throwing.

It’s been an exciting sporting year at school which has seen all of its hockey teams reach regional level competition as well as its under 16s win bronze in the national Tier 3 tournament, a huge number of girls selected to train with prestigious netball development programmes, three students competing at national athletics competitions, trophies and medals galore in swimming, the school’s Director of Sport named as England Hockey’s national coach of the year and, perhaps most importantly, girls of all ages trying out a huge range of activities, finding their passions and having fun with their friends at school.

Director of Sport, Ms Kat Barbery-Redd: “Sport is an important part of school life with all girls encouraged to get involved and try new things, so it’s been fantastic to see everyone really getting in the spirit of the day whether they are a regional champion or simply having fun with their friends. Today is a real celebration of another incredible year of sporting success at school but it’s also a fantastic reminder that sport is for everyone and it’s been great to see all the girls getting their chance to shine.”

Many made a day of it with lunch on the lawns and the school’s PTA judges were extremely impressed by the entries in their Posh Picnic competition. Huge congratulations to the Prynn’s who won top prize and proudly took home the ‘Mary Hodgson Cup’.

The school’s dedicated team of mums and dads from the PTA also put in sterling service on the refreshments and ice-cream bar with hundreds of cups of tea and ice lollies consumed over the course of the day.
