The plans for the gallery have been in fruition for a number of years and will this summer will be realised with the creation of this self-contained exhibition space, which will benefit every girl in the school.
As well as being the venue for art exhibitions and creative workshops, the space will be used to offer lectures and talks for parents and as a performing arts hub to facilitate an increased portfolio of recitals and musical workshops for girls from as young as four.

An artist’s impression of the proposed exhibition space
Headmistress, Mrs Sarah Matthews said: “It’s an incredibly exciting development. Our vision is not just to enhance the Creative and Performing Arts provision here at school by having visiting artists, musicians and performers lead workshops, exhibit their work and stage informal recitals – we want our girls to be inspired by creative excellence and to provide them with a space where they can put their work on display too.”
The official opening of the gallery is set to take place this June with an exhibition to honour the school’s outgoing Year 13 artists, musicians, designers, dancers and actresses.
If you are an artist, musician, author, poet, performer or creative of any kind who would like to exhibit, perform or run a workshop in the new gallery and exhibition space, please email events@trurohigh.co.uk to register your interest.
