It’s part of a bid by the St Minver SeaGirls WI to create this vital PPE for local healthcare professionals. The group has formed a 21-strong team of experienced sewers, nicknamed the Sewing Bees, which is being led by Chloe’s mum and SeaGirls secretary, Gemma.

Alongside her lessons at virtual school, each day the 9-year-old has been helping with everything from pattern cutting to stitching.

Much of the fabric has been gifted but there is a call for donations to purchase as much fabric is needed to fulfil the demand for masks and scrubs. Many kind donations have already been received and anyone wishing to donate should visit the initiative’s fundraising page on GoFundMe.

If you wish to join the Sewing Bees please contact Lindsay from L’Interior Designs on 07974 190663.
