Amy beat a strong field of 14 entries and her chocolate oaty biscuits were declared “melt in the mouth” by the judges.

The competition has been organised by Truro High School for Girls and is open to young bakers in Years 5 & 6. A dozen primary schools are taking part and Amy will take on the best of the rest in the semi-finals where she will cook six muffins in our food room.

The winner will receive a voucher for a Rick Stein Children’s Cookery Course in Padstow on April 7 and their whole class will be invited to take part in a half-day food workshop, including cooking and food science, at Truro High School during the summer term. Truro High is a 2015 Good Schools Guide Gold award winner for its Home Economic teaching.
