Truro High’s Isaac is one step closer to stage-managing Broadway having earned a sought-after place to study Production Arts at the world-famous BRIT School.

400 students applied for the course and only 40 earned a place.

The UK’s leading Performing and Creative Arts school, BRIT’s alumni include Hollywood actors such as Marvel’s Tom Holland and Grammy, BRIT and MOBO award-winning artists such as Adele, Amy Winehouse, Ella Eyre, Jessie J, Kate Nash and FKA Twigs.

Isaac said: “It’s a real privilege and something I’ve been working towards for a long time. It’s such a feeling of relief getting in and I’m so excited to start in September – it’s going to open up so many doors. In the second year, they’ll even pick two students from the course to run the tech at the BRIT awards. I’m going to miss the tailored learning and the family feel that Truro High has but I can’t wait.”

Isaac joined Truro High at the age of 10 and for the last 3 years has run the school’s sound and lighting board with expert support and mentoring from Alan Porter of Porter Electronics. The 16-year-old has also earned Grade 7 LAMDA and Grade 7 Piano.

Isaac aims to work in lighting design and stage management with the ultimate goal of running the tech on Broadway.
