Crowned South West regional hockey champions, the team didn’t lose a single match throughout the entire regional tournament.

As a result of their success, the school’s players will now be flying the flag for Cornwall and the South West in the national Tier 3 Championship finals next March.

It continues a journey which last year led them to place 3rd in the entire UK in the National Championships.

Team coach, Mr Tom Elliott: “Following last year’s success, the team surpassed themselves with their excellent play and support for one another. It was an incredibly professional performance and, in my mind, there was no doubt that they were going to win. We now look to taking on the rest of the country and have got our sights firmly set on winning the national title.”

The Tier 3 Championships are open to ‘emerging school’ teams which do not frequently supply hockey players to regional and national squads.

The trophy is the latest addition to Truro High’s growing collection of hockey accolades which includes seven hockey county champion titles and a host of regional athletics titles.
