Gool Peran Lowen - Happy St Piran’s Day! This week our school came together to celebrate St Piran’s Day in style. It was a truly heartwarming day of Cornish celebration, bringing together students from across the school, teachers and staff, in a shared love of Cornwall and all things Cornish.

Held on 5 March every year, St Piran’s Day celebrates one of the patron saints of Cornwall, Saint Piran, the patron saint of tin miners. Our Prep girls from Prep 3-5 proudly marched in the St Piran’s Day parade in Truro, representing Truro High School with their infectious enthusiasm and smiles. As the girls waved their Cornish flags in amongst the procession, their screen-printed banner, adorned with school spirit, colourfully symbolised the unity and pride of our school community.

Meanwhile, back at school, our Pre-Prep girls savoured the true taste of Cornwall, with scones with jam and cream as they enjoyed some Cornish-themed colouring in. For lunch, the whole school enjoyed a selection of pasties and fish pie (inspired by the famous Stargazy pie) for lunch, and saffron buns for dessert. It was truly a day beaming with Cornwall pride.

Gool Peran Lowen from everyone at Truro High School!
