Year 13 Reilly is celebrating having earned offers from the world leading business schools at the universities of Reading, Newcastle, Bath and Cardiff.

Reading and Newcastle’s triple crown accreditations – an accolade which is held by less than 1% of all business schools worldwide – place them within the global elite of business schools.

Reading ranks 5th in the UK for graduate career prospects in ‘Business, Management and Marketing’ in the Guardian University Guide 2021 whilst Newcastle is one of the Top 20 universities most targeted by the UK’s leading employers.

The University of Bath is home to one of the UK’s leading business schools – it ranks 1st in the UK for Marketing and 3rd for Business and Management Studies in The Complete University Guide 2021. It also places in the Top 5 for Business Studies and Accounting and Finance in The Times and The Sunday Times University Guide 2021.

Out of 101 business schools across the country, Cardiff currently ranks 6th for research quality in the latest government Research Assessment Exercise (RAE). 86% of its output is classed as world-leading, while its research environment came joint first. It is one of only two business schools in the UK to rank in the top 10 in every government RAE since 1992.

Reilly said: “I was so excited to get the offers. The support I had from the school for my application really opened my eyes up to the alternative ways of approaching tasks to do with employment and applications.”

As part of her application, Reilly took part in a Business and Economics course at a top Oxford Summer School and was praised for her “extraordinary passion” by her tutors. Reilly earned a scholarship place on the course when she impressed Oxford Scholastica’s Jo Cruse, who was speaking at a business lecture for students at Truro High.

Reilly continued: “Without Truro High, I would have not had the opportunity to take part in this course which allowed me to explore different parts of business that I had not studied before.”

Reilly currently studies Psychology, Business and PE at A Level and has written a research paper on the effects of gender inequality on the homeless as part of the Extended Project Qualification.

Her ultimate goal is to launch her own business or be part of senior management at a top FTSE 100 company.
