For the third year in a row, London College of Fashion, part of University of the Arts London, has ranked 2nd in the world for Art and Design in the QS University Rankings, second only to Royal College of Art, which focuses on postgraduate studies.

Its alumni include Jimmy Choo, Jonathan Anderson, William Tempest and Alek Wek, and it has industry links to Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton, WGSN and Puma to name but a few. UAL is where two-thirds of the British Designer of the Year winners got their education.

Manchester Met ranks 6th in the UK for Fashion Design and Textiles in the Guardian University Rankings and 7th for Art and Design in the UK Complete University Guide. Its alumni include designers such as Sarah Burton OBE, Creative Director at Alexander McQueen.

De Montfort University is ranked in the Top 10 for Fashion and Textiles in the UK, according to The Guardian University Guide 2020 and DMU was named best in learning experience in 2019 by The Business of Fashion, the internationally renowned website which assesses the world’s top programmes.

Art and Design at Brighton is in the Top 15 in the UK and in the Top 100 globally in the QS World University Rankings 2020. Barbara Hulanicki OBE, founder of iconic fashion label, Biba, Julien Macdonald OBE and Matthew Ashton, Creative Director for LEGO in Denmark are among its alumni.

Charlotte said: “I felt really excited to receive the offers. It’s a big achievement for me in the next steps of my education. Throughout my time at Truro High, I have gained a wide range of skills from Lifeguarding to launching a campaign to promote clothing sustainability as part of the EPQ. I thinking these additional skills really impressed the universities along with my portfolio.”

Charlotte currently studies Art, Textiles and Business Studies and her ultimate goal of working in the fashion industry.
