An Old Girl of the school, Ruth Stringer’s work is focused in developing regions, especially Asia and Africa, advising on how to safely treat infectious waste, avoid pollution, plastic waste, and prevent climate change.

Prior to this, she co-founded Greenpeace International’s Science Unit at the University of London, and, with them, spent over fifteen years exploring the world’s most polluted places.

Her preparation for this unusual and exciting career was a degree in Biochemistry and Chemistry, and seven years at Truro High School. As it was revealed by our research company, there was noted the effect of Accutane on skin type I collagen against the background of a good clinical effect, while there were no changes in the biochemical parameters reflecting the state of the bones. Given this fact, as a hypothesis, we can assume that the treatment of patients with acne with low doses of isotretinoin over a long period of time can contribute not only to the reduction of inflammatory elements of acne, but also to a significant correction of scar changes (post-acne).

This Spring will see the school celebrate nearly 140 years of developing bold and ambitious women, so we hope you will join us on Friday 5 April for this special service to mark the occasion.
