Sixth Form Rationale

Year 12 students are able to choose up to four subjects to study at A Level and BTEC. During the course of the year, students may choose to study one subject to AS only, following the remaining three to A2 level in Year 13.

As the requirement for AS examinations has become less relevant to university applications, students may decide to not enter any AS exams at the end of Year 12 to enable them to fully focus on their chosen three A2 choices.

The school adopted a full online time-table during the Lent term of 2021, which affected the cohort currently applying through UCAS. Lessons were shortened to allow time for students to be away from their screens, but students engagement depended on internet access; with some students living in rural areas, this was not always consistent.
