There were tears of joy for Viv today as she opened her results to find out she had earned an A* in Geography and As in Biology and Maths.

Viv has a place at Exeter to read Geography with Applied GIS but has decided to reapply to study International Development and Economics. She is taking a gap year to work in a school.

Viv leaves Truro High with so much more than exceptional grades. Alongside her studies, she took on the role of Deputy Head Girl, coached the school’s Under 16 hockey team to national champion victory, passed on her sporting expertise to Prep pupils every week, trained as a lifeguard, acted as a GCSE STEM subject tutor and worked as a peer mentor for younger students.

Viv said: “I think Truro High has prepared me more for life than anything else could ever have done. It took my passion for things like hockey coaching and has turned them into skills and qualifications that will benefit me for life. The way the school has supported me but at the same time ensured I am equipped for life, is amazing.”
