Last weekend marked an unforgettable chapter in the story of Truro High School for Girls, as our exceptional Greenpower team took to the iconic Goodwood track with five cars – each one proudly designed, built and raced by our own students.
Travelling all the way from Cornwall, a team of 30 brilliant girls, accompanied by their dedicated support crew, demonstrated not only technical excellence but also the kind of teamwork, innovation and determination that defines the spirit of STEM. Their presence at Goodwood was more than a race – it was a statement. A statement that the future of engineering is bright, bold, and female.
Every turn of the wheel, every pit stop, and every cheer from the sidelines was a testament to months of hard work, creativity, and resilience. From sketching out ideas to engineering their designs into fully functioning electric race cars, these young women have shown what’s possible when passion meets purpose.
We couldn’t be prouder of all they have accomplished – not just on the track, but as ambassadors for the next generation of female engineers and innovators. They are setting an inspiring example for young women across the country, proving that with courage and collaboration, anything is possible.
