All of the girls have proven invaluable in getting the squad to the finals which has seen them face off tough competition in two gruelling previous rounds.

Friday saw them seal their victory against Cornwall’s top teams and proudly head back to school clutching the county trophy and sporting medals for their efforts.

It was a particularly momentous day for Prep 5 Anna who, at just 9-years-old, won gold in the backstroke race against girls significantly older than herself.

Director of Sport, Ms Kat Barbery-Redd said: “This was a real team effort and I couldn’t be more proud of them all! Every single member of the squad has contributed to getting the team to the finals and I’m delighted that their hard work and dedication has been rewarded.”

The squad consisted of Prep 5 Anna, Prep 6 Chloe, Prep 6 Hannah, Prep 6 Imogen, Prep 6 Lila, Prep 5 Matilda and Prep 6 Olive.

Well done, girls!
