The research by FFT Datalab revealed that pupils at girls’ schools received a significant academic boost, with grades equivalent to 10% higher at GCSE in 2023. This finding reinforces previous studies that have highlighted the numerous benefits of an all-girls educational environment.
In addition to academic excellence, the report underscores that girls in single-sex schools develop greater confidence and resilience. The supportive and focussed atmosphere helps them grow mentally tougher, better preparing them for future challenges.
This environment fosters a sense of empowerment, allowing girls to excel without the social pressures often present in co-educational settings. As a result, they are more likely to embrace leadership roles, participate actively in class, and pursue interests in STEM fields. Overall, the research suggests that all-girls schools play a crucial role in nurturing well-rounded, academically successful, and self-assured young women!
