The school continued with a full timetable of virtual lessons throughout the summer term with GCSE students all completing their courses and many taking pre-A level courses in the subjects of their choice.

Today all that hard work paid off with 100% of students passing every single subject and around two-thirds of all passes at the very highest grades 9-7.

Headmistress Sarah Matthews said: “We are so proud of all the girls who have worked hard and coped incredibly well during the last few months. They have shown great determination and resilience and we look forward to seeing them progress to the next stage of their exciting academic journeys.”

Parents were quick to praise the school for its work to look after their daughters’ wellbeing enabling them to thrive and achieve results far in excess of those they had imagined on joining the school.

Sarah Matthews said: “It is so lovely to see the happy faces and the genuine pride and joy these girls have in each other’s success. Today’s results are wonderful but they are just a small part of what makes these girls so special. Many of them here today have taken centre stage in productions, they have won engineering prizes and they have played hockey and come home national champions. It is all those different elements that combine to make our girls such confident young women and the great results are simply the icing on the cake.”

Among those celebrating today was Meena Panicker who collected 10 Grade 9s and 2 Grade 8s and said: “I cannot believe it, I am just so pleased and happy.”

Meena and her friends are looking forward to returning to school next month to begin their A level studies. Last week, Truro High ranked as one of the top independent schools in the UK when it published results showing 85% of all A level passes were at Grades A*/A.
