The countywide CrossFit competition took place at T4 Strength and Fitness Centre and saw the Year 13 THS student and her teammate pitted against 30 teams consisting of female athletes of all ages.

Even more impressive, they were only 7 seconds behind the team which took home gold.

A form of high-intensity interval training, CrossFit is a strength and conditioning workout that often features variations of squats, push-ups, and weight lifting that last for predetermined amounts of time to help build muscles.

It’s been an exciting month for Justine who also completed a 70 kilo clean lift during her training sessions – a task she set herself as one of the school’s 140th anniversary challenges.

It’s all driving towards her ultimate goals of competing in the World CrossFit Games and training at Sandhurst to work in military intelligence.

Justine currently trains for 2 to 3 hours six days a week balancing her training schedule alongside her studies. She is currently applying to read Slavonic languages at university in Paris.
