Going Out

“An important aspect of boarding life is the freedom and choice we are given both on weekends and after school, whilst still being kept safe. This, I feel, is managed extremely well. The relaxed atmosphere and level of trust really helps create a happy relationship between pupils and the boarding staff.”

We are lucky enough to be situated in the fabulous city of Truro.  With the city centre just a five minute walk away, girls can experience all it has to offer in their free time – as specified in the Boarding Handbook.

There are excellent bus and rail links to the coast and other pretty towns and villages.  Within some basic guidelines, the girls can enjoy Cornwall’s natural beauty and its many and varied attractions.

Getting out and about to explore the stunning scenery, fabulous beaches and vivid history Cornwall has to offer is central to the boarding experience at Truro High. We offer a huge variety of house activities that allow girls to experience Cornwall from a wide range of perspectives whether its exploring our county’s rich history at St Michael’s Mountsurfing on the North Coast or going out fruit picking locally to make delicious smoothies.

Take a look at this term’s Weekend Boarders’ Activities to see what we get up to in a place where school can be home.

We offer an orientation week at the beginning of each academic year for new joiners to ensure they feel well at home by the time that school begins. A detailed and thorough induction is also offered to pupils who join at other points in the year.
