Explore Cornwall

Stunning scenery, golden beaches, clean air, a rich and vivid history - Cornwall has all this and more!

Located in the far west of Great Britain with a rugged and spectacular coastline edged with endless golden beaches, Cornwall has long been one of the most sought-after holiday destinations in the UK with more than five million visitors making a beeline for its shores every year. It’s a county rich with romance and history, an inspirational haven with creativity pulsing through its veins.

Truro, where we are based, offers high street shops alongside quirky boutiques, fabulous fish and ethnic restaurants – plus pavement cafes serving cream teas. There are also some top quality art galleries, a wonderful museum, a multi-screen cinema and so much more. With the city centre just a five minute walk away, girls can experience all it has to offer in their free time.

Be wowed by villages which date back hundreds of years with tales of smuggling, shipwrecks and tin-mining. Lured by the light, beauty and soul of Cornwall, many national and international film companies choose to film here.

Add to this entertainment that includes the famous Mousehole lights at Christmas, ‘Obby Oss’ May Day in Padstow, the Minack Theatre and of course Tate St Ives.

You can go green at The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan or take a step back in time and go down a mine or take a more leisurely stroll around one of the breathtaking sites run by the National Trust and English Heritage such as Lanhydrock, Trelissick Gardens or Pendennis Castle.

Finally, the sea. The only county to be surrounded on three sides by water, Cornwall is famous for its surfing, sailing, the National Maritime Museum and its 700km of coastal paths.

No exeats mean that our girls have the chance to explore this beautiful part of the UK all term long.

We offer a huge variety of house activities that allow girls to make the most of our superb location whether it’s exploring our county’s rich history at St Michael’s Mountsurfing on the North Coast or going out fruit picking to make delicious smoothies.
