Meet our Headmistress

An exciting journey awaits your daughter as she enters our school; a vibrant community where intellectual curiosity, collaboration and creativity are encouraged and celebrated.

I can scarcely believe that it’s been over six months since I joined the Truro High School community; it already feels very much like home.  My family and I have been welcomed warmly with a sea of smiles and friendly faces and can clearly see that Truro High School is a hive of purposeful activity, brimming with enthusiastic students.

At Truro High School, we pride ourselves on understanding every student as an individual and consider it a privilege to enable them to thrive. We are a school where ambitious goals are realised and students are encouraged to be the best they can be.

Within our halls, girls grow into confident, resilient and articulate young adults, ready to embrace the challenge of life beyond school with enthusiasm.

We are delighted you are considering entrusting your daughter to our care and hope to meet you very soon.

Mrs Matthews has previously worked as acting Head of St Mary’s School in Shaftesbury and for Harrow International School in Hong Kong. Sarah moved to Cornwall last summer along with her husband Richard, nine year old daughter Ruby and seven year old son Henry. It is, she says, the tangible atmosphere of enthusiasm and pure unadulterated joy that has attracted her most to the school.
