Endeavour at Truro High is designed specifically for Sixth Form students, offering a unique opportunity to shine and grow in a supportive and enriching environment.

What is Endeavour at Truro High?

The Endeavour programme is a comprehensive framework that recognises and enhances skills and achievements. It focuses on promoting super-curricular activities, giving you a competitive edge when writing personal statements and other applications. By participating in Endeavour, you will embark on a journey of self-discovery, personal growth, and skill development across five key disciplines.

The Purpose of Endeavour

The goal of the Endeavour programme is simple yet profound: to empower you to develop a diverse range of skills, experiences, and achievements that will enhance your readiness for higher education and future career success.

We aim to promote student-led intellectual curiosity, encouraging you to explore and engage with the world in meaningful ways. Endeavour aligns with our school’s mission to provide an “inspirational learning environment”, fostering holistic development and preparing you for life beyond the classroom.

The Unique Aspects of Endeavour

Student-Led: The Endeavour programme is uniquely student-led, with staff acting as overseers and promoters. You are encouraged to drive your own activities, fostering independence and initiative.

Super-Curricular: Endeavour is super-curricular with no ‘taught’ elements, focusing on activities that extend beyond the curriculum.

Flexibility: While you must achieve some credit in each discipline, you have the flexibility to focus on the areas most relevant to your interests and goals.

Personal Choice: Within each discipline, you can choose any suitable activities, allowing you to tailor the programme to your personal interests.

Portfolio Development: The focus is on building a portfolio of evidence that can be used in personal statements, at interviews, and beyond education.

Advancement of Girls and Women: You are encouraged to choose activities that promote the advancement of girls and women. Bonus credits are awarded for activities such as volunteering at a women’s charity.

Standing Out in a Competitive World

We understand the pressure students face in making their personal statements and CVs stand out. Universities and employers are looking for well-rounded, unique, and dedicated individuals who have gone beyond the standard curriculum. The Endeavour programme is designed to help you showcase your individuality and dedication, making you a standout candidate in any application process. By participating in a wide range of super-curricular activities and building a robust portfolio, you will demonstrate that you are a motivated, versatile, and proactive individual ready to take on the challenges of higher education and beyond.
