After weeks of fierce competition, over the weekend our Senior Debate team headed to the FINALS of the South-West and South Wales Rotary Youth Speaks ‘A Debate’ Competition, at CliftonCollege, securing an incredible 2nd place finish!

Led by Alina (Year 12), the team debated the influence of the United States on global politics. Amelie (Year 12), a student of Philosophy, English and Drama, delivered eloquent and incisive arguments, impressing judges with her passionate yet logical critique of U.S Influence. Sylvie (Year 12), with her knowledge of international politics, reinforced the team’s case with well-research, compelling arguments. Whilst Alina balanced exceptional professionalism and confidence as Chair.

Months of preparation and practice paid off, and their outstanding performance is testament to their hard work and dedication. As there was no national final this year, making it to the Regional Finals was the last stage of the competition! To place 2nd in the whole South West including South Wales is an incredible achievement and we are so proud of our fantastic debate team! Congratulations girls!
