Happy Chinese New Year from all of us at Truro High School! As we welcome the Year of the Snake in 2025, we celebrate wisdom, determination and resilience - qualities we see in our students every day!

The Lunar New Year is a time for joy and togetherness, and we send our warmest wishes to our school community in Truro and across the world.  We celebrated the welcoming of a new year on the lunisolar Chinese calendar, the year of the Snake! Uniting our Boarders, day students and school staff in the spirit of community.

The evening celebrations truly captured a spirit of joy that will resonate throughout the year to come! The celebrations were highlighted by a delicious Chinese feast prepared by our dedicated catering team, Sodexo, offering an array of traditional dishes that were savoured by all.

Our Prep girls got involved in the celebrations yesterday too! Our Early Years class learnt how to eat with chopsticks and created art inspired by Chinese numbers. Our Pre-Prep girls took part in Chinese New Year crafts, making their own paper lanterns, whilst our Prep 3’s enjoyed dancing to Chinese folk music with their handmade dragon masks!

A wonderful day of celebration to begin the new year.
