Truro High School’s former Head Girl, Sage, is celebrating a string of exceptional A Level results having earned A*s in Art and English, A in History and an A* in the EPQ.

Sage is now setting off to read English Literature at the University of Edinburgh, which ranks 3rd in the UK for the subject.

Sage said: “There is such a supportive community at Truro High. The personal care we get from the teachers is amazing and the environment is just a great place to be. I owe it so much and, whilst I am fully prepared for the next stage of my life, I will miss it dearly.”

Proud mum, Mary said: “It’s been like a big extended family for us all and I cannot believe it is at an end. We are so proud of her and all she has achieved. I think the all-girl environment has really helped them all because they can just be themselves and they don’t feel they have to conform or fit in.”

Alongside her A Level studies and being Head Girl, Sage has done everything at school from training to teach English as a foreign language to penning a research paper uncovering the truth about South Africa’s canned hunting trade as part of the EPQ.

This June, she even reported on the comings and goings of the G7 summit being one of just 13 young journalists to be chosen to be part of the Young People’s News Hub.
