Year 13 international boarder Jolie is one step closer to making her dream of becoming a vet a reality having earned sought-after university offers from the world’s top veterinary schools.

She has received offers from the world’s number one veterinary school, The Royal Veterinary College; City University Hong Kong; and the University of Bristol.

The Royal Veterinary College has just been named as the top veterinary school in the world in the QS World University Rankings 2021. The rankings are determined by a range of criteria, including academic reputation, research impact, number of citations, employer reputation and the h-index.

The University of Bristol’s Veterinary School came in at 13th in the world in the latest QS Rankings.

City University Hong Kong’s veterinary school is the first of its kind in Hong Kong and is run in collaboration with Cornell University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, one of the most prestigious veterinary schools in the world.

Jolie’s impressive application has also resulted in an offer to study Biochemistry from UK top 10 university, Bath.

Jolie said “I was on cloud nine when I found out that my dream is so close to coming true – all my hard work has been worth it! The admissions teams said they were really impressed by the exposure and experiences that I have gained at Truro High. The Aspiring Medics programme has offered me so many opportunities to talk to vets and other professionals, which has given me a realistic picture of the career and prepared me to perform my best in my interviews. Everything from taking part in Operating Theatre Live to horse riding club has got me to where I am now and being able to take on leadership roles has also been so helpful too.”

“The key thing has been the support and guidance from my teachers. Their constant support has made me more confident and believed that I can achieve my dream. Without them, I would not have gone this far.”
