Year 11 students have been taking part in these bespoke courses for nearly fortnight with their Year 13 counterparts set to start their modules after half term.

The uptake has been excellent and the school is especially pleased by how many girls have selected courses, modules and projects even if they are not taking further study in these areas.

Modules already underway for the Pre-A Level courses include undergraduate level research projects into topics including microgravity, exoplanets and particle physics; linguistic and literary analysis of news media and recent advertising campaigns; experimental psychological studies on topics including the impact of lockdown; and a cross-curricular Textiles and English project to create an intricate conceptual artwork inspired by fairytales.

As well as a wealth of academic subjects, the programme includes specialist courses aimed to equip girls with the skills they need to thrive beyond the school gates. These range from Marketing and PR to mental health first aid.

It’s all designed to ensure that the girls are perfectly placed, and prepared, for the next stage of their learning journeys and it’s been fantastic to how enthusiastic they are to get started.
