Mountview is renowned as a world-class drama school that provides its students with the tools needed to succeed in a competitive industry. 95% of students work professionally within one year of graduation.

Its alumni include Artistic Director of the Donmar Warehouse Michael Longhurst, 2018 Olivier Award winner Giles Terera (Hamilton), 2017 Olivier Award winner Rebecca Trehearn (Show Boat), 2017 Evening Standard Award winner Tyrone Huntley (Jesus Christ Superstar) and Eddie Marsan, Lindsey Coulson, Ken Stott, Douglas Henshall and Mina Anwar.

As part of the course, Charlotte will work with professional directors, designers, choreographers, musical directors, producers, actors, stage and production managers. Audiences for productions will include agents, casting directors and other industry figures as well as the general public. Students are also offered masterclasses and Q&As with leading actors and theatre creatives throughout the year. Adrian Lester, Topher Campbell, Sir Michael Boyd, Rosalie Craig, Dame Judi Dench, Dame Twiggy Lawson, Mike Leigh and Graham Norton have all given recent sessions.

Charlotte said: “I genuinely can’t believe it. Having previously been to a 3 week short course at Mountview, I know that I am going to be spending the next three years doing what I love with people who are as exited and passionate about musical theatre, drama and music as I am. Being accepted onto the course is honestly a dream come true for me and I can’t wait!”

“Having been at THS since nursery, my love of the arts has been nurtured throughout my whole school life. I started the Viola in Prep 3 as a result of a club that was set up by the school. Since then I have been in every performance, ensemble, orchestra and choir that anyone would let me be in. I know that my development as both an actor and a musician have been massively influenced by the opportunities that THS has given me to perform and the extremely caring, talented, inspirational teachers that have helped me along the way. There is no doubt in my mind that THS has helped me to achieve this amazing opportunity.”

Charlotte can often be found in the school’s performing arts centre leading rehearsals and practising for starring roles in student productions. A real team player, she leads her own 10-piece acapella choir and even led the senior school choir in the place of its usual conductor, Mr Norman, as part of her Gold Arts Award. The 50-strong choir involves all of the school’s Year 7 cohort as well as a huge number of talented singers from the Senior School and Sixth Form.
