She has received sought-after offers from the universities of Bristol, Cardiff and Exeter, all of which are part of the prestigious Russell Group, and the University of Bath.

In the 2019 Academic Ranking of World Universities, the Biological Sciences Department at Cardiff University was ranked in the top 25 worldwide and the top 5 in the UK.

Exeter is 7th in the world for Ecology in the Shanghai Rankings Global Rankings of Academic Subjects 2019 whilst Bristol has a worldwide reputation for the outstanding quality of its research and a number of international-award-winning professors. 

Anarosa has also earned a spot at UK top 10 university Bath, which ranks 1st for bioscience graduate prospects in the Guardian University Guide 2020. The Department is home to a world-leading centre for evolutionary biology research, the Milner Centre for Evolution.

She said: “I don’t know what to say, it just feels really great! Our Head of Sixth Form, Mrs Sharp, is also my Biology teacher and she has helped me so much. In a bigger college, it’s really easy to get lost in the crowd so the real difference here for me is that the teachers are always checking in on you here to make sure you’re on track – there’s been so much support!”

Anarosa is set to take a gap year after completing her A Level courses in Biology, Chemistry and Geography. She hopes to take on a series of volunteering placements in Sri Lanka and Thailand before starting her course in September 2021.
