It’s been a long journey that has seen her excel in a demanding admissions process in order to achieve her ambitious goal. On average, for every ten students applying to study medicine at university, only one will be offered a place.

Charlie’s application impressed the University of Nottingham Lincoln Medical School so much that they have offered her a place with significantly reduced grades.

Both universities are part of the prestigious Russell Group.

Charlie said: “I started doing medical work experience when I was 15 so it’s been four years’ worth of work to get here and it’s all paid off. I was awarded the school’s Purohit Prize in Year 11 and the mentoring I’ve received from that has had a huge impact on getting these offers. I’ve also been part of the Aspiring Medics Programme and the leadership opportunities here really impressed the interviewers.”
